In der ehemaligen Küche des Künstlers Georg Baselitz – Schloss Derneburg

I do not seek – I find!
(Pablo Picasso)

Meine Philosophie:
Gnothi Seauton – Erkenne Dich selbst:
Wer bin ich, was kann ich, was will ich?

Vita + Philosopie

Heinrich Hecht
I do not seek – I find!
(Pablo Picasso)

At the age of three I found an exposed film in my older sister's camera, which I pulled out. For my sister a disaster - for me the first encounter with the medium that has filled me with joy and enthusiasm for many years and also nourishes me.

But photography has never lost its appeal for me. When I turned ten, my parents gave me a small Agfa Instamatic Camera, with which I took my first pictures at the Baltic Sea.

In my teens, it was more the music that got me creative as a drummer.
Later, during a vacation with two friends, one of them (a photographer!) noticed that I was thinking hard about how I wanted to create a photo. He advised me to buy an SLR camera, which I did.

After a commercial apprenticeship and years in the computer industry (sales and marketing), my path as a passionate autodidact led irrevocably and successfully to photography.

Already as a teenager I was interested in architecture, in many ways. On the one hand, it is the form, the aesthetics, but above all, how architecture fits into its environment. Once I've found the right shooting location and angle, I experience a great sense of satisfaction. As a team member of Christo in 1995 on the occasion of the wrapping of the Reichstag in Berlin, I experienced how art and architecture met in an extraordinary form that will certainly not appear again in this form so soon.

With Sir Antony Gormley at Derneburg Castle / Hall Art Foundation,
on the occasion of his installation "European Field", which I accompanied with my photographs.

For me, art is both a stimulus and an object. It is even better when it is in the right environment and forms a symbiosis with the architecture. If water becomes a component of the art, as with Fabrizio Plessi, it interests me all the more. Art shows itself in various forms, can be social criticism, reflection of the times or simply aesthetics in its most beautiful form.

Water has played a role in our family for generations – Both professionally and for recreation. The sea never ceases to fascinate me. For me, water belongs above all to the three great "landscapes" that manage to create an atmosphere of contemplation for man: seas, mountains and the deserts. I got to know all three landscapes. However, I am most fascinated by the sea and its coasts, with everything that goes with it, but especially yachts, shipping and harbors.

Since my childhood I have been interested in cars, and since the age of fifteen especially in vintage cars. Here, too, the theme of art comes into play. Anyone who has ever looked at a car of the Art Deco era, e.g. Delaheye, Bugatti or even a Talbot Lago, will hardly be able to escape the fascination. It is the art of a car designer to create something unmistakable as a design (art) for "his" time, which still captivates the viewer after 100 years. Finding the right environment for a car is always a great challenge. Staging a car in the right light, no matter if in a studio or on a mountain, is often a big task and challenge, but at the same time it can be deeply satisfying to see the final result.

Many of the pictures taken on commission were taken with a handmade 6x17 cm camera, of which there are only a few in the world.

By the way, I appreciate it very much if my photography results in a book production. I am happy to take over the entire production process from the idea and conception to the final print approval. Of course, everything in consultation with my clients.

What I have not found yet?
An infinite budget for infinite exciting projects!

What else I like to spend my time with – besides my work:
Family, sailing, music, literature, art, and vintage car driving.
